It can be a bit of a dilemma.  You’re in your holiday home for perhaps a few weeks or maybe months every year but you don’t live there permanently. You want to use the internet, but not 365 days a year. We think we’ve got the solution for you.

It can be difficult to resolve. When you’re in your holiday home you will miss having the internet. Just think of all the times you use it, often without even thinking. For boarding passes, instant messaging, booking your restaurant/ entrance tickets, for checking on the weather, finding the best route somewhere… the list goes on.

Not to mention the friends and relatives. If you have young people staying with you, use of the internet is compulsory. If you don’t have it then they’ll be complaining about roaming charges; you’ll be constantly searching for WiFi hot spots or you’ll be plagued by bored visitors.

The trouble is if you do have a holiday home, you don’t necessarily want the internet all year round. Chances are you only visit in the spring and summer months, and perhaps a few more weeks here and there.

Daily internet service

That’s why we’re delighted to be able to offer a new ‘pay-as-you-go’ or daily internet service. Rather than paying every month whether you are here or not you can select the period of time for which you want to be connected.

It works a little like it does in a hotel – but cheaper. You select exactly how many days you want to pay for, inform us and we will enable the service for the specified amount of time.

Unfortunately this service isn’t yet available to all our clients yet. However, if you have a property located in the Costa Blanca between Alicante to Cartagena, then we are pleased to be able to offer this service now.

Once you’re connected

Once you’re connected we recommend that you bookmark  ‘On The Pulse’. This is a leading website which researches and reports on items of news and information of interest to Spanish property owners. It has created its own section called Expat Apps to give you up-to-date information on what’s happening in the world of Apps.

For example, have you heard of Minube? It’s an App you can use when you’re travelling. It lets you search for and find places to stay, eat, shop and drink in your holiday destination. It will also allow you to create your own photo album where photos will automatically upload according to where they were taken.

You should be careful too, however. According to On The Pulse’s article, ‘Are you in danger of contracting Whatsappitis?’, Whatsapp can be responsible for a lot more than just finding you a good place to stay. Tenosynovitis is apparently an inflammation of the sheath surrounding a tendon – such as those found in your thumb.

Apparently, people are complaining of pain, swelling and numbness as a result of constant messaging. You might not feel too much sympathy with people experiencing this, but it is perhaps an example of how evolution can’t quite keep up with changes of lifestyle.

Perhaps generations in the future will have better developed thumbs and smaller mouths. But in the meantime, the internet is too crucial a part of our lives to leave behind when you’re on holiday.

Our daily internet service is the perfect solution to adapting your holiday home to today’s needs.
